Question thruster position in model/mesh

I remember that you could add a cube as a thruster position in your model/mesh in anim8or. Name it with a material like Th_.

Then you could run a program and then it would make a txt file with the position of the TH_ material objects.

Anyone remember anything like this.

I noticed this for the Hispa Eagle.
 
I can't see what exactly the advantage of this would be. I mean, defining a thruster position is nothing more than just three vectors in a config file. Why exactly use a script for it?
 
yes. But if you place the cube with the material Th_... where you wanted thruster and RSC then you could see where rather than going thru and using meshwizard to figure out the vectors
 
Why do you even need meshwizard? You should just be able to see the coordinates in whatever you're using to make the mesh...
 
While doing the mesh I usually note all rotation axes, thruster positions etc. Saves time in further developement

True. But if are using another person's mesh and don't have the model or scaled,... MeshWizard works.

I think that Loru actually means the vector definition of the axis around which things rotate for stuff like animations...

Sorry! :blush: I meant to add rotations, but I was in a hurry when I posted it.

Grab the imaginary axis with your left hand and the thumb in the '+' direction. The fingers will point in the positive direction around that axis.

(I didn't put the rotations on my Post-It because I always have my left hand.... ehrm.... close at hand :lol:)
