By default, the length of a sim step is dynamically bound to the framerate, which keeps the simulation real-time (and also means the simulation is more accurate the more fps you have).
For debugging purposes, you can configure a fixed timestep between frames somewhere in the launcher options, but this really is just for debugging. Since I don't think there's a fixed framerate option, this will usually result in diverging passage of time between the simulation and the experiencing user.
