Hi! I'm fairly new to this forum, but I've been using Orbiter for years, and my question has always been whether there are any tools, or which ones are best, for starting to create vessels in Orbiter.

I've researched it, but I find it complicated and I'm still confused. That's why I'm asking if there's a solution to my problem.

I tried modifying an existing file to import meshes and textures, but it didn't work.

Do such tools exist?
Thanks and good night! :D

I can help. Not sure what you are trying to do. Depending on the mesh and module. things can be done. If sc3/4 /VB that can be done. But if an DLL then not easy at all.

You can make simple vessels (best place to start) just by editing a very short .cfg in notepad, see Orbiter developement docs for details. Note: for a space station or basic ship this is all you need.
Try Blake's Orbiter Tools for Blender.
This has a simple tutorial for importing meshes into Orbiter.

More advanced stuff can be done with VesselBuilder, has a GUI you can use in Orbiter.
Depends also on what you want to make? For launch vehicles there's Multistage, and for astronauts I'd suggest UACS.
Ultimately you can code and compile everything. All these have there learning curve, but there's a lot of info on the forum and don't be afraid to ask:)
