Problem Total Immersion Descartes Issue

Howdy,

I posted this in the Descartes link and the Total Immersion - Descartes Link but was advised to post in this forum.

I was wondering if the Total Immersion - Descartes could be made D3D9 compatible?

It crashes when loading the sim with Orbiter_ng.exe.

My apologies if this is the 3rd repeat of my post.

as you have been pushed from one thread to the other I will first welcome you ;)

Back to the problem:
1. I can't see any spacecraft3.dll in your log. Is it installed?
2. I read your posts in the other threads so I know that the links were created and that you have tried WITHOUT videnie.dll ('cause that would fail definitely)
3. If you have spacecraft3.dll installed, can you give me the exact version of it? I always have problems with spacecraft3.dll (to be honest, I tend to hate it) because I can't figure out why some things crash. But that's another point. An URL where I can get YOUR EXACT VERSION of the spacecraft3.dll would be great.

For the record: Here's my setup (installed in that order)
- Orbiter 100830
- D3D9Client (source, to be able to debug)
- Universal Cargo Deck 4
- spacecraft3.dll (spacecraft3_060302.zip + spacecraft3_2006-P1.zip patch)
- DSV01.zip
- DSV45.zip
- TI_Descartes.zip
I test (will test) with Scenario: "Scenarios\DESCARTES\01 DESCARTES Shakedown.scn"

Until now I can only get the Setup to crash! But this is (as usual on my site) somewhere in spacecraft3.dll :(
Maybe I am getting all the time the wrong spacecraft3.dll setup.

Until then, I wait for some information from your side (Maybe YOU can help ME with spacecraft3.dll :thumbup: )

Kuddel, I am using Spacecraft3 version 060425. Thats what the 2006P1 patch version is I think.

O.K. That's right!
Unfortunately I can not report any more on this.
With the setup (posted before) I can only say that there is a bad memory access and I can not really see that is comes from D3D9Client.

I am not at my computer duing the weekend, so you might not hear anything from me until Monday.

Thanks for your detailed response. I do have - spacecraft3.dll (spacecraft3_060302.zip + spacecraft3_2006-P1.zip patch) installed as well. It is the full version downloaded direct from Vinka's website Here Just not sure why it didn't show up in the log. I'll reinstall it.

Vinka has another spacecraft3.dll file available

Actually, the Total Immersion mods don't require spacecraft3, if I recall correctly. They are dll based re-worked versions of Burch's originals.

The original Descartes does need to be installed for the Total Immersion mod to work?

The reason for saying is that the Total Immersion mod works fine if it doesn't run through D3D9Client.

The Total Immersion mod is the one with the dll., the other required addons use Spacecraft3.
Also does the payload manager work with 2010P1

I've been having this same exact issue, except with the Total Immersion version of the Shuttle PB. Basically, it works just fine in the normal Orbiter client, but with D3D9, it crashes and reports an error message similar to the one posted by the OP.
