Hello, I've seen on numerous tutorial videos where they use Scenario Editor to place a ship that's on the ground into orbit. The two variables that they change are the semi-major axis and the eccentricity. When applied, the ship ends up in orbit. However, when I try to do this, my ship will reposition to the entered semi major distance, but with zero speed. The ship just falls straight down like a rock. What am I missing? Thank you.

A simpler way ti do it is ti modify you orbit by using thrusters at perigee/apogee to reach your orbit and then refill your fuel tank by scenario editor. Once your orbit is right you can modify your inclination inside orbital parameters.

Using scenario editor:
Click State Vectors
Change the coordinates to be polar.
Adjust the radius to the altitude you wish.
Same with the velocity.
You flick coordinate system for velocity
