Hi all,

I was trying out areostationary orbit, when I noticed that after maximum time acceleration, my vessel was completely in wrong place above the planet.
Moved camera to Mars, turned on Videnie orbit drawing - and when I turned on maximum time acceleration... The vessel freezed in place, that is, stopped orbiting. When I go down to lower acceleration - it is orbiting again.

I think I noticed this before, after some major ejection burn I turned on maximum time acceleration while still in LEO, and ship freezed in respect to Earth - but then I didn't understand why.

Now I see. At maximum time acceleration, vessel "locks" it's position to nearest planet, stops orbiting. Why does this happen? Is it because of some addon (there are lots of them now)?

P.S. I restarted the same scenario - now it's working. Seems random, this problem, can't recreate.

Somewhere, but not here.
Do you mean that orbiter stops for a second and then continues? This, in my experience, is due to having a ton of addons loaded into orbiter.

Orbiter has trouble rendering everything on the Earth under you. These addons that I'm talking about are high resolution surface bases. The more you have, the more Orbiter has to render the planet. Your best bet is to use slower time acceleration.

No. He means the vessel is frozen in space while Orbiter simulates everything else. But the vessel does not propagate.

I've notice this when I use CVEL and Velcro Rockets.

No. Everything moves, planets rotate and orbit, EVERYTHING moves except the vessel - it freezes in one place, just like I would press "pause". Planet is rotating below, orbiting around the sun - and the vessel just stays in one spot, until I lower time acceleration - then it starts orbiting again.

Yes, boogabooga, exactly. But I don't use Velcro...

That's weird. Of course there are imprecisions with high time acceleration, but I never encountered something this drastic.

What vessel is it? Did you accelerate time or use the scenario editor to affect the date?

I was trying out the Deep Space Communications Satellite from Orbiter Hangar. It was time acceleration, not date edit.

Im sure if you press f4 there's settings some where there that lets you choose what happens during time acceleration.

Could you post your orbiter.log?
I'd like to see what MFDs you have installed as I already had this problem with BurnTimeCalcMFD.
