Excellent!
On the first impact I'd expect the higher DG to detach itself from the torsion, or shock.

I'm assuming problems with docking on ground has been solved. :D

PS. Also what is current method of "dynamics mesh" integration - separate mesh or flagged verticles in main mesh?

A separate mesh. In fact, if you look closely at the video, you'll see that the main gears sink into the tarmac when the DG is tilting up. This is because I had to set the "logical" touchdown points for the main gear ahead of the mesh gear. The position of the gear as given by the mesh makes it impossible to rotate for runway takeoff. It's a small structural weakness of the DG mesh.

Finally, we can have docked structures landed on the ground. :)
Great job, as always!

You forget that delta-gliders use magic superglue for docking!

The new improved formula now includes unobtainium particles

So now we can dock thrusters, that will actually work ?

Docked vessels on the ground. Now I've seen everything!

Are the two meshes (the visual and the physic one) linked ? Wondering for animations ...

If we consider then that both DeltaGliders in that simulation have two meshes - one for collision and one visual - how much work is there in adding to the vessel code logic to make them collide with one another?

I've no idea, since I've never even attempted something like that.

Being able to dock cargo to a vessel instead of attaching it solves the problems with accounting for payload mass and vessel loaded/unloaded balance problems. Awesome.

That looks absolutely amazing. Sad that I didn't spot this thread earlier.

Being docked on the ground also means you can transfer from vessel to vessel. Like from 1 LER to another LER without going outside

I suppose this will fundamentally change the role of att points & docks, seeing as everyone will mostly use dock ports to hold cargo on. It would probably be usefull to make sure that a resource pumping MFD is up to date to transfer through said ports (ie oxygen from docked tanks)

Not necessarily. Attachment points still have the significant advantage of being completely self-managable when it comes to mass distribution, they don't show up on any lists (using docking ports for cargo, you have to leave through tens of ports to find the one you actually wanted to dock your ship to), and robably most significantly, they have an ID allowing for attachment compatibility management. These things are tough to beat.

Using docking ports means that the mass and moment arm of the attached object is accounted for automatically.

THAT is tough to beat!

It's not for attached objects?
