The confederacy of procell declares independance... There are several mass drivers near the equator they count as airbases... Our main economy is helium 3 and thorium mining... We are organized into:

3 Special Economic Zones

Is it OK to be part of the Federacy of Friendship. Australand doesn't have a good army...

EDIT: Australand finishes development on an expendable launcher capable of 20-40 tons to LEO, 5-10 tons to GTO, 1-5 tons to LLO and 0.5-1 ton to LMO. Australand is also designing a reusable shuttle to be taken to LEO (think ESA's Hermes). The launcher is tested by launching a dummy shuttle payload into LEO. Test successful.

Drought strikes Africa. Populations are decimated across the equatorial belt and the WHO declares it a state of emergency. Tens of thousands die as disease and famine sweep across the region. Food and medical aid cannot get to the area quick enough and aid food distribution points become overrun as people clamour to get dwindling supplies.

Residents resent being ruled by a sovereign power in a temperate climate 10,000 miles from the disaster-zone and being cut-off from their compatriots in the lush southern continent by Germany and Khartoum isolates them. They start losing their identity as Floridians. Local tribes begin to storm aid points by force to control food supplies as Law and Order breaks down. Anarchy ensues and the Sudanese region of the Floridian exclave breaks down into Civil War.

germany cannot give up the oil - we send medics all around equator, also for other nations.
Also we try to solve floridas civil-war-problems using high-powered land and air forces...
