As the new ODS meshes have some really cute additions, I thought it is a good idea to make the mid-deck development now an official task.

I would like to get a preliminary mesh of the mid-deck (does not have to be good) pretty soon, so we can make the stuff we have on the ODS visible and develop activities.

Important for me are the various panels spread over the mid-deck, which are very important for managing the power supply to the avionics.

I can live well with a curtain in front of the WCS. ;)

Whats the WCS?

oh ok  But who does not want that in 3d in orbiter ?

Urwumpe, do you want a copy of my 'dummy mid deck, which is probably wrong as it's based on older diagrams.

I don't know how much changed in the mid-deck, it might be accurate enough. I would also need it to scale with the rest of the SSU, as we corrected the scale to fit with the real world numbers.

If that can be done, it would be good for the start, the internal airlock would need to be gone during the next steps, as we currently don't support it (only external airlock with or without ODS).

I'll create the 3DS tomorrow. I have an older 'Donamy Shuttle', I can use to scale it. I think its the first VC version of the Shuttle Fleet.

You can get the latest meshes in the used scale over our subversion repository, you just need to download TortoiseSVN and follow some simple steps to always get the latest data from it.

Zero-G curtains? That should be interesting.

Can't wait, Also, I'd advise you to add in the 3 seats down in the mid-deck. Also, for pictures, Google is your friend.

If you ask Gazza, you might be able to take little bits of the mesh from STS-payloads mideck mesh, im not saying to use all of it, but some parts that are needed, happy that an SSU mideck is in development :)

The seats are only there for ascent and re-entry, there not really perminant for the whole mission, they stow them somewhere, ever been in a cramped room with 3 big chairs in the middle, that what proabply be like.

A SSU mid-deck, that sounds awesome. A window view out the hatch plus other views that are in the mid-deck, nice stuff.

Just started SVN, nice app. Looks like some minor tweaks, but I'll have some thing workable in the next day.

PS I'm locked in insomnia mode, so I'll start soon :)

I had to rebuild it from scratch. Started about 3am, finished 5am when I decided that the sunlight was going to burn my skin. Slept for an hour, made breakfast for my wife and myself, did some house work, exported the Mid-deck from Rhino3D to 3DS, imported the Shuttle mesh and Mid-deck in to AC3D scaled the mid-deck to the shuttle and emailed to you.

Could of got it to you faster if I missed out breakfast and house work

just taking a break now to catch up on emails :coffee: :)

I have the stowable seats done.

How do you have them? Separate or as single mesh?

I just work on adding the mid deck visual to it, are the keys "C" and "V" without modification already used for something?
