which mars level 10 are you trying? I've had it successfully working and I use a pretty old graphics card. low framerates, but I don't mind. I'm quite experienced with problems relating to installing add-ons like planets, or any addons, actually. maybe I can help

there's lots of non-standard info in your .scn file, Agentgonzo, not very noob-friendly. I am talking addons that you don't mention, but arent' neccesary anyway, but do leave a couple of lines in the .scn file. No problem for me, but newer users might not want to go into editing a scn file if...

in my experience, only the mfd's that are open are saved in the .scn file in the quicksave directory, with all inputs saved.

i'm jus responding to your title; yes indeed, striving for perfection can have a very negative influence on just being plain productive and useful.

i've done this.. it's fun! launch one ship, send it ona course to Mars, then launch a second ship, and try to arrive at the same time. The DGIV's antenna makes it easy and fun to track the other ship.

being an old-time u2-fan I'd recommend their first couple of albums, up untill it get's poppy.. somehow, nice synchronicities happen with words in the lyrics. (even better results with atmospheric flights)

I'm just doing this now and find the visual docking between the CSM and the LM to be easier than the docking mfd. Just make sure you turn around exactely 180 degrees and kill-rot. then rotate to align the red T on the white circle on the LM with the crosshair in the CSM upper-left window. then...
