ORBITER-FORUM will be temporarily closed at 2026-07-23 18:00 UTC while we complete some OF maintenance tasks. The amount of downtime is expected to take up to one hour, but probably less.
To help me when I come back to the PR list, I've added a new PR label milestone for people to add to their PRs that'll mark them out as things that need to be merged in ahead of the 2024 release; https://github.com/orbitersim/orbiter/milestone/1 - please associate your PR with this milestone...
Yeah, it's working, one-off donations just require manual confirmation and it's been a few weeks since I've checked the queue. I've confirmed your donation @Abloheet - many thanks!
I just made a change to the origin connectivity for IPv6 - something I must've overlooked when originally configuring this, somehow, and every time I've looked since. I haven't seen a 521 on my end since I did that, but do let me know if you catch another.
In some ways, I'd be obliged if my...
Yeah, was the first series of things I checked, the load on the server is well within its resource headroom. It's intermittent communication between cloudflare and the origin.
Yeah, it's being looked at. Nothing changed on our side; we don't, equally, appear to be under attack and the server is not load shedding. It seems more insidious than that.
We had briefly touched on this point in the Discord chat, but were a little unclear on the main feature differences aside from "Orbiter is open-source now and this is the first open-source release" - I know there has been much work done and many fixes made, but in terms of something you could...
I broke this during the last update cycle by moving over to a newer PHP engine and leaving the (very small) default values for file uploads in place.
This should be fixed now, please re-try.
This seems to have been resolved by... paying cloudflare some money. Which suggests the errors were perhaps due to cloudflare quietly deciding we'd outstayed our welcome on their free plan.
I saw this! It's on my wishlist but doesn't yet support my GPU - you need an Nvidia RTX card to run it, the description sort of heavily implies AMD cards just flat out won't work.
Ah, sorry, I've been trying to move from .co.uk -> .uk on this domain but I forgot I can't update the URLs on the medphys site to reflect that. I've replaced the mirror. DNS record, so this should work again shortly
The contents of GPIS was put onto the orbiterwiki page - though that front page links to the same problematic download it looks like the actual substance of the book was preserved.
I think it's quite out of date now, though. A new revised Orbiter 2024 edition wouldn't hurt
S'broken, yeah.
I haven't looked at this one specifically but as a rule, this isn't about a file being missing generally - sometimes this error happens because the addon was just an external link when it was uploaded to orbithangar, and that hasn't translated well in the various migrations...
Computers, mostly. Programming here and there, ops there and here.
Currently a senior devops engineer for a digital agency in the hospitality sector. It's fine, it pays well, and I work from home.
