ORBITER-FORUM will be temporarily closed at 2026-07-23 18:00 UTC while we complete some OF maintenance tasks. The amount of downtime is expected to take up to one hour, but probably less.
That's encouraging. I'm also running an i7 4790K, stock clock and cooling. But my video card is also from that era, GTX 970 SuperClocked. I've been looking at just upgrading the card for the time being, maybe adding 16 more GB of RAM to max my board out at 32. This should give me...
I'm not sure about station parts themselves, but as far as vehicles you could certainly use the XR5. Its payload bay can carry some large modules.
Of course, it's much more suited for station building if you have Universal RMS, but I'm not sure that addon still works.
Not a big deal, just thought it would be neat to have, for the nostalgia. There's a chance I downloaded it somewhere. I'll check all my storage media later tonight and see if I can find it.
Wow. That is so weird. Out of the blue, for no reason, I was just thinking about this server over the weekend. Remembering some of the underground mines I'd found while exploring in, I think, the southwest part of the map, and working on building a railway in the Nether to connect it all to...
I'll also point out this line in the "Known Issues" area of 4thRock's Constellation Program 2016 addon:
Could this also be the case with MS2015 vs. SC3? Maybe MS is using more fuel, but from Florida you still have enough to get to orbit, but not from Vandenberg.
Is Vandenburg far enough North that there's enough of a deficit of the benefit of Earth's rotation compared to the Cape that it would matter?
Are you launching into the same inclination from both locations? If so, is the inclination you're aiming for more difficult to hit from Vandenburg...
Same here. We fall under the Enterprise definition of the license, and each dev has an MSDN subscription provided by the company.
Same here. In fact I recently got a new laptop at work, about 2 months ago. I installed Notepad++ after migrating all my work, but I honestly don't think I've...
I use it at work as well for just editing single code or config files, when I don't need full-blown Visual Studio features. My go-to editor most of the time.
Agreed. This could definitely get interesting.
"Flight, we have a typhoon warning at the edge of the prime recovery zone..."
Clearly you've never taken off in a Cessna 150 in a strong quartering crosswind. The moment the mains leave the ground the plane weather-vanes into the wind and...
Not sure I can see it from right at ignition. As the smoke vapor clears at liftoff the red stabilizer fin on the left becomes suddenly visible. Stopping the video at 1:28:44, everything looks ok to me, but a split second later something appears to "pop" on the left side and a flame suddenly...
