ORBITER-FORUM will be temporarily closed at 2026-07-23 18:00 UTC while we complete some OF maintenance tasks. The amount of downtime is expected to take up to one hour, but probably less.
Maybe it's just the exposure, but it looks fake to me. Not calling it fake, mind you, it just looks odd to me. The trees look super-imposed onto the night sky, almost like flat textures in a poorly-produced 3D rendering.

For strictly Orbiter development, Anim8or is great. Personally I'd recommend Blender. Mastering it opens up so many other doors, including development for other sims such as X-Plane.
Drag is also a by-product of lift, so perhaps even though there is drag due to AoA, the amount of drag being contributed as said by-product decreases as the wings contribute less lift, making the total amount of drag less?
I bought a Pi3 earlier this year for my Stratux setup. Note - the article is a little dated. The current Vilros kit comes with the Pi3, which has onboard WiFi.
Literally the most difficult part of it was assembling the case. All I had to do was load the stratux build of the OS onto the...
If you start with 'Modern' Doctor Who, I recommend you don't skip Eccleston's Doctor. At the very least go back and watch his whole season later.
Almost all of David Tennant's episodes are good, with Blink being one of my absolute favorites.
The others have made some great suggestions as...
Sad news from the world of aviation today.
Our friend Hannes Arch dies in helicopter crash
He was, in my opinion, the best pilot in the circuit and by far my favorite. I'm completely at a loss for words. Truly devastating.
Blue skies, my friend. You will be missed. :(
:welcome: to O-F!
Exactly where I was going to recommend starting. I consider it the ultimate primer for getting your feet off the ground. It's definitely a steeper learning curve than FS2004, but it sounds like you have the drive and the hunger to learn what you need. By all means, ask...
Well, that's the first time I've ever had to quick-scroll past an entire page of this thread.
My take on spiders: Kill them all. Kill them all with fire.
Then nuke the site from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.
Keep in mind, Orbiter is a spaceflight simulator, not an addon simulator. Martins has no obligation to include code in the core to support a specific addon or series of addons. He gives us the API and the SDK as a courtesy. It's up to us whether or not we keep up with the changing times...
Anyone notice the strange bird-like object at about 45 sec in this video? It appears to be a bird, but then seems to accelerate off to the left of the screen at a high rate, without flapping its wings.
No tinfoil hat here, just an interesting observation. Draw your own conclusions, I just...
Unless you have a full-motion simulator, this is definitely a limitation that one must overcome. However, in doing so, you are actually benefiting yourself. It causes you to train yourself to rely on what is outside the cockpit window, and more importantly on your instruments. "I can't feel...
That accurately describes several of my early flight lessons...
On a serious note, glad everyone is ok. The video on the article linked would not play, but based on the pics below it, just looks like she did a faceplant in the grass.
