    Project Apollo 16 Soundpack (AMSO)

Just completed audio on through to LOI, REV 1 commentary, & DOI on up to about crew sign off for the night. Also, the landing sequence tweaks are done. All audio from P64 to landing plays back OK now.

    Project Apollo 16 Soundpack (AMSO)

Hi, Rodion. I was looking over the AMSO manual and noticed in the credits you made the meshes for the astros and LRV in AMSO. Thank you for your work on that, it's so awesome.

    Project Apollo 16 Soundpack (AMSO)

I never flew one of those fictional ones posted on OHM. I always wanted to though. Tycho would have been incredible.

    Project Apollo 16 Soundpack (AMSO)

Thanks, also be advised Orion has landed. Having saved many scenarios by flight day and event from launch to recovery from a few years back it sure is speeding up the process. A few minor tweaks on the landing sequence are still needed.

    Project Apollo 16 Soundpack (AMSO)

I recently began work on a full mission sound pack for this flight for my own use. I have since put enough work into this to feel OK to commit to it. The sound pack is structured in the same way as my Apollo 13 release. The first 4 hrs of flight is in real time covering pre launch to LEM...

    General Question Apollo 16 soundpack?

Thanks for your reply GeneralRipper. That's what I did on 13 and was leaning towards that again myself, however I'm open to hearing different points of view on this first. The parking orbit phase is especially interesting on 16 because of the race with the APS module and hearing the different...

    General Question Apollo 16 soundpack?

I have been working on one just recently and have the pre-countdown to LEM extraction completed. I didn't respond earlier because I wasn't far enough along in the work I thought to commit to it. I took this up initially just for my own use. All that's needed is to run the sequence through...

    Vessel Star Bird

That was one of my favorites also. The fins were supposed to be docked parasite fighters AFAICR. (That would be kinda cool to simulate.) The sound effects were marketing's secret weapon.

    Question What are you reading?

Just finished Messerschmitt Roulette: The Western Desert 1941-42 by Wing Commander Geoffrey Morley-Mower, DFC, AFC. A great read about an Englishman flying solo or two man low altitude tac recon flights in worn out Hawker Hurricanes with a RAAF unit. Just started Moonfire: The Epic Journey of...

    Project Apollo 17 Soundpack

Nice to see you're making 17. I'm looking forward to it. It is fun working through the audio and learning a lot more about the flights from the transcripts in the process.

    1:72 Scale Saturn V

Its been awhile, but here's some pics of some work I managed to get done. Its been rather slow going. Still a WIP. With the weather window closing here soon for airbrushing outside, this won't get done till next year. Repaint of the F-1 engines. Nothing fancy, but I think it looks better than...

Plastic models of Nasa spacecraft, who does it, show your stuff

Regarding simulating the kapton foil on the LM descent stage, I used aluminum foil. I've seen that people have experimented with various chocolate wrappers to get that gold and orange metallic like effect. Would make a fun research project anyway.

Plastic models of Nasa spacecraft, who does it, show your stuff

Here's the old Monogram 1/48 LM-5 Eagle. Built this one some 30 yrs ago. It got knocked around over the years, and most pieces fell off, but I saved them all in a jar and it later got boxed up and forgotten. After hearing the sad news of Neil's passing, I decided to take the time to get this...
