Gaming The Kerbal Space Program - Version 1.2.x

Sorry to bump again, but I wanted to let everyone know, KSP 0.16 is now released! It's available through the in-game update system now, so it should update you when you run the game. You guys already know what it's all about, so I'll just leave a few screenshots here: Happy Apollo...

Question What kind of car do you drive or wish to own?

I got a Pontiac G3 here, 2008 model. It's pretty ok I think, although lately the ABS brakes have been bugging out on me... I took it to the shop to get it fixed, and the problem is still there... Fortunately there is a 60-day warranty on shop repairs, but it still means I have to be...

Poll How many languages do you speak?

I think English became the universal language by default not just because of the cultural prominence of english-speaking countries... It's also a very straightforward language to learn. Being a non-native anglophone I can say that, compared to latin-based languages, English is a very easy...

Poll How many languages do you speak?

I speak Portuguese (natively), English and Spanish here... Although one could argue 'Mexican' is quite a different language from Spanish. ;) Cheers

Gaming The Kerbal Space Program - Version 1.2.x

In a nutshell, the full version has a persistent game world, meaning anything you launch will saved and resumed later, which makes it possible for you to have multiple missions happening at the same time. Also, we've done a massive overhaul on the terrain system. No more visible quad seams, and...

Gaming The Kerbal Space Program - Version 1.2.x

Hehe, yeah, I guess it's barely more than a captured rock. Should be fun to practice interplanetary hops there though, hopefully. :) Cheers

    Question What are you reading?

Just picked up A Song of Ice and Fire, by George R.R. Martin here, and looks like I'm going to have no problems finding something good to read for quite a while. :) The show is insanely good, I'm hoping I can read at a pace to finish the first novel by the time the second series ends, so I can...

    Gaming Shattered Galaxy Development

Hi, Just read the project, and it does look like a very cool idea. If there was a space game realism scale, with 0 being star wars games and 10 being Orbiter, this would sit in a place where there aren't too many others, which is always good. Now, about the execution of the project itself, I...

Gaming The Kerbal Space Program - Version 1.2.x

Hi, I'm very happy to announce that the 0.14 version of KSP is finally official. :) This, being the first non-demo release, is only available through our Store. We have also released a small maintenance update for the demo, that fixes a couple of bugs. I'm going to skip the blurb here, you...

Gaming The Kerbal Space Program - Version 1.2.x

Hi, Just wanted to announce here, we've released the first experimental release of the 0.14 update now. You'll need a pre-order to get it this time, as the 0.14 update is the first non-demo release. :) The server is struggling pretty bad at the moment though, give it some time if it doesn't...

Gaming The Kerbal Space Program - Version 1.2.x

Yeah, use the Tab key to switch focus objects in the map. That's kind of an unfinished feature there :shifty: Cheers

Gaming The Kerbal Space Program - Version 1.2.x

True, but the idea is that KSP should have a shallower learning curve than Orbiter. I admit that so far that hasn't been the case. The lack of proper orbital instrumentation makes it really difficult to get anywhere if you didn't have any previous knowledge of orbital mechanics. But our main...

Gaming The Kerbal Space Program - Version 1.2.x

Nova being here pretty much puts KSP at it's best-case-scenario :) I'm very happy to see this is starting to happen! Cheers

Gaming The Kerbal Space Program - Version 1.2.x

Just to let everyone know, the 0.13.1 revision update is now released! It's a minor update, to take advantage of the optimizations on the Unity 3.5 update, and to future-proof this version against thing we will add in the future. That's because this version is the last free-to-download...

Question What did you get/give this Christmas?

I got an RC helicopter here, and a Darth Vader alarm clock :D The heli is a small, IR 3-channel thing, and it's tiny enough to fly in my own bedroom. I've set up some boxes and stuff as landing surfaces, and I'm now practicing landing it on any one of them without crashing or smacking into the...

Vector Calculus with respect to AI

A thought vector is an interesting concept, but I think in the end it's just another way to implement a fuzzy-logic AI system. Vectors would represent truth values, as 0-1 floats would in a 'standard' fuzzy logig AI model, and the algorithm would then change code paths (i.e., make decisions)...

    Game design help

Well, I can only suggest you get Unity, and use it as your starting point. There you'll proably be coding in C# (although you can use UnityScript or Boo). And Visual Studio is a great (and free) tool to code C#. I'd advise against starting from zero in C++... Especially if you haven't any...
