Ahh I can offer some insight on why Jeb seems to be high all the time.
He is the pilot!
The crew AI is the same for all of them, but they have different personalities. Their personalities are defined by 3 attributes: Courage, Stupidity, and whether or not they're the pilot.
Jeb is 0.5f brave...
Nice! A launch at 12:30 EDT is one I can definitely watch live! I missed the last one... and the Discovery one as well...
I really can't miss this one... last chance!
Cheers
I am a very happy guy right now! 5 pages in less than 24 hours!
@Steveodoran: Fixed your name down in the KSP forum. Thanks for joining!! (I love being admin of a forum!)
Gravity is correctly modelled. It IS possible to enter a stable orbit, although it takes careful planning and...
Hello everyone!
Finally it's time to unveil what I've been working on for the last 6 months! Needless to say, I'm feeling a little nervous right now... I hope you like it.
Without further ado, here it is:
The Kerbal Space Program
KSP is a game about building and flying spacecraft...
By now I believe most people should have at least .NET 2.0 installed... Since Windows 7 (and Vista) already ship with 3.5, unless you're still stuck on winXP SP1, it's fair to assume you will have some version of .NET onboard.
There used to be a time when coding over .NET was frowned upon...
Does it have to be a natural science?
Computer science can get really hard, especially when you go into simulation programming. You'll be looking at quite a lot of other fields of science while you're at it. ;)
Granted, it's not as hard to learn the basics... Hmm

Hmm, then again, if you're pushing the water out by hand, there is probably a maximum peak amount of pressure you can develop... If one hole made the gun too 'stiff', a second hole will have the effect of enlarging the (no pun intented) bottleneck, meaning you can drive the piston in faster...
Mine is a somewhat long-ish story:
Back in the day I used to share nicknames with Moach, my brother... Since we shared the 'puter, it was easier to just use a single nickname so we wouldn't need to be constantly logging in and out... So I used to be Moach (which is a word we made up... but...
It's probably gonna be the biggest thing to happen to marketers since the whole $99.99 thing...
Let's all keep quiet then, we don't want them marketers finding out about this.
Cheers
The main problem with these ECMA-Script based languages is that they treat anything beyond the most basic data types (ints, floats, bools) as referenced types.
So yes, when you declare an intance of your class you have to mentally put a & sing in front of it, because that's what you're...
The fuel is filled to the max, but it burns off as the shuttle rises into orbit. About 2 minutes into the flight, it's burned more than half it's weight in fuel.
Unlimited fuel doesn't mean infinite fuel weight also :D ...it just means the tanks are always at 100%, which also means the shuttle...
I've tried it here too... very misleading indeed.
But it should be common sense that pocket calculators will only do one operation at a time. You can't chain operations as you would with a scientific calculator.
So a pocket calculator expects you to know that limitation, and calculate one term...
I've had the eDimensional glasses... they're ok I guess, but nowhere close to a perfect all-in-one solution for 3D...
Now nVidia has come out with their 3D vision kit, which I've tried out, and it does look great...
But the hassles of stereo 3D still apply, you still have to wear glasses...
15:4 here :)
Resolution is 3840x1024.
I've got a Triple Head setup here, using 3 19" LCDs, each running at 1280x1024... since they're 3 5:4 screens side-by-side, my screen is 15:4 ;)
Worth every penny!
Cheers
Hmm,
I take one from Voskhod and give it to Apollo
Vostok-11
Voskhod-9
Soyuz-9
Mercury-10
Gemini-10
Apollo-12
Shuttle-10
X-15-9
SpaceShipOne-11
Shenzhou-9

I really didn't expect that people would know the terms from Gulliver's Travels, and not from the computing paradigm...
I must have missed a very important part of my childhood
Cheers
Hmm, kinda late, but here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moment_(physics)
That might be of help ;)
About the angular case, it depends on the type of integration and how you've set up your physics solver.... If you have a Verlet-style point-and-link solver, the angular case gets automatically...
Today I took the time to have a look at the D3D7 code, and found many interesting things... For one, I didn't know Orbiter did distance scaling... that's one mystery solved ;)
On second though, it seems pretty obvious now... One has to account for the massive scales involved somehow, now, don't...
yes, only that Goggle Earth's database is 4TB large... You'd need a few extra hard drives for your orbiter installation then
Hmm, let's see...
When you find it strange that people on other forums don't worship the :probe: ...those infidels
Cheers
