I always use the INTERPLANETARY MFD it has the map of our solar system,you can plan your way even to the sun...and the is an option there for orbiting a moon or a planet.

as I reach close to a space planet or moon the SURFACE MFD should change by default to the surface I am close to...so far so good in theory. In my case lately the Orbiter 2006 p1 crashes completely when SURFACE FMD changes. I tried all the ships and gliders. I use for space travel the...

try get slowly to the target then use hold altitude autopilot,then hover like an helicopter and make small changes with the hover and attitude,that's what I do and it works fine.

In the Surface MFD whenever it changes to another planet the sim crashes.. For example in a flight to the moon .The Surface MFD is set by default to the planet you're in...so when I approach the moon (or other planet) the Surface MFD doesn't change by default to "MOON" and the sim crashes...

had same problem and indeed installing the missing dll files mentioned above solved this annoying problem.

Hello,I've just downloaded an autopilot called "Land MFD" it works fine on the moon and the earth,but havn't tried yet on mars....it might be working good also there.. http://www.aovi93.dsl.pipex.com/others_addons/LandMFD0514.zip

Before I formatted my PC,Orbiter 060929 was running like a charm. Now after the format I reinstalled the latest version 060929 and a warning messege appears msvcp71.dll is missing ,I click ok and when the program starts,there appears no atmosphere (in daytime the sky is black except the clowsd)...
