Installation An alternative to the Orbiter.cfg Directory Redirect for Textures

I don't think you understand how this works... I'm not making links to the files, I'm making a link to the directory.

Installation An alternative to the Orbiter.cfg Directory Redirect for Textures

This solution creates a linked directory at the directory level not at the file level. The /J creates a 'hard' directory link... a link from directory-link to an actual directory is created. I see no reason why any management software wouldn't work with this.

Installation An alternative to the Orbiter.cfg Directory Redirect for Textures

Fellow Orbiter Enthusiasts, I have scoured the forum for instructions on how to redirect the massive new Textures directory from my current installation location to a more accommodating central location... but no no avail. I feel I made a valiant effort but all I could find was the following...

OHM HoverMFD 1.1.3 for Orbiter 2016

Yes, you are much more concise with your statement than I was. I was trying, poorly, to explain that many aircraft autopilots (military in my experience) have both a calibrated MSL (air pressure) and a radar altimeter AGL input. However, no autopilot is as sophisticated as 'HoverMFD' but since...

Update Updated XR Vessels for Orbiter 2016 Released

I like the idea of a "wheel-chocks" They're always the first thing to set after parking an aircraft and the last thing to remove when departing.

High-res planet textures in archive (tree) format

Is there some kind of 'smoothing' that was done to the hi-res textures? I flew out to Devil's Tower from China Lake (full SCRAM in the XR-5 - good practice monitoring temps and speed - anyway...) I got all the way out there and couldn't find it.

OHM HoverMFD 1.1.3 for Orbiter 2016

MSL vs. AGL - Let's not over think this I worked for many years as a software engineer maintaining a few simulators for the Air Force. I do not have a pilot license but I have flown all the simulators I ever worked on and am rather confident in my abilities. Having said that... Let's not over...

OHM HoverMFD 1.1.3 for Orbiter 2016

It's common practice to MSL "Mean Sea-Level" for most high altitude flying and to use AGL "Above Ground Level" at lower altitudes.

OHM HoverMFD 1.1.3 for Orbiter 2016

Have not tested yet, but have been waiting for this update to 2016 more than any other. All I need now is RV Orientation and I'll be all set for my highly computer assisted futuristic jaunts around the solar system.

OHM BaseSyncMFD 3.3 for Orbiter 2010

Is there a specific runtime or something this requires other than MMExt 1.1? I'm getting an error loading the module (code 126).

New Orbiter Beta Released (r.13, Mar 7, 2015)

2015 IS AMAZING I Finally downloaded the latest 2015 (150307 r13) and the LowRes Earth/Moon and Clouds (I read you need all those)... and then fired it up! It loaded almost immediately and there have been a ton of really nice changes that you'll see right away. I say, yes, do it! :thumbup...

General Question Can a Moon have a Moon

There is an actual initiative to capture an asteroid and put it in a stable orbit around the moon to somehow practice going to Mars. I wasn't aware of the L2 ISS proposal; however, I did find this: The Exploration Gateway Platform is a design proposed by Boeing in December 2011 to drastically...

General Question Can a Moon have a Moon

I have again edited a previous post to better describe what I have attempted so far: I've taken an existing moon (such as Hyperion and made a copy named luna.cfg for example) I then edited the orbital mechanics entries (as best I could) and attempted to re-script it and insert it into the...

General Question Can a Moon have a Moon

I appreciate all your responses, however, as it is here at work as well - I should have been more specific (we tend to be mercilessly specific). Is it possible to script a moon as having a moon. I've taken an existing moon (such as Hyperion and made a copy named luna.cfg for example) I then...

OHM Airport Weather Station v 1.0

Very Close You think you're joking but the truth is very close; the original programmers never even considered other debris in the air... the fix was to be more robust (which they should have in the first place) when checking to see if temperature/humidity/etc was even favorable for snow in...

OHM Airport Weather Station v 1.0

Snow in Mississippi? When placing these things in real-life you need to pay attention to where you put them relative to their surroundings. After installing one of these sites in Tupelo Mississippi the Present Weather algorithm kept reporting snow in the middle of summer... turns out that the...

    OHM XR Facility

Landing the XRFacility vessel on the XRFacility shell I really like this facility and have included it in all my 'secret' bases I like to fly out of. For simplicity I put a SCALE 0 landing pad at 0 0 0 in the XR_FacilityH.cfg and then 'landed' the vessel part by adding STATUS Landed Earth and...
