Question Thorton's Soyuz FG/U 1.2 - reaching the ISS, how?

Thanks for that last bit, I didn't know these effects were modeled... FWIW - fuel effeciency not withstanding, my usual accuracy is in the 5-15km range.... My problem isn't really doing the docking, it's having enough fuel to DO the docking... Best mission so far was 18% left in the tanks...

Support Helpful Graphic for Thorton's ISS (v3.2)

I think you are correct, but I don't use the built in docking hud, I press "U" which gives you the actual (or nearly actual) docking view with a big white plus on the screen.

Advanced Question Scenerio editing - Oribital elements and Epoch/Date

Ok, so far I seem to be able to get elements that are no more the 24hrs away from my desired sim time, so I think I'm OK on drag and precession right?

Question Thorton's Soyuz FG/U 1.2 - reaching the ISS, how?

Ok, I'm with you on this right up until "at a few kilometers distance". If I'm in a 200 x 220km orbit and the ISS is in a 350 x 350km orbit, then the closest I can possibly come to it is 130km. That's a whole lot more then a few.... somewhere along the line I'd have to raise my orbit to be...

Question Thorton's Soyuz FG/U 1.2 - reaching the ISS, how?

Well, at least this is a STEP in the right direction  So... it's normal for Soyuz/Progress to be in a lower orbit when the last stage burns out? Thinking about it, I might be able to figure this out if the "Sync Orbit" MFD showed a list that was 35 entries long (lol) That's the...

Question Thorton's Soyuz FG/U 1.2 - reaching the ISS, how?

Has anyone successfully reached the ISS using the included scenarios? I find that reaching orbit before 3rd stage burnout is hit or miss, and when I do get to orbit I am WAY below the ISS... Is something off with this addon or is there a tutorial for getting Soyuz to the ISS (there are tons...

Advanced Question Scenerio editing - Oribital elements and Epoch/Date

Two questions really. One - where can I simply "look up" the orbital elements of whatever I'd like to? I've found heavens-above, but I wondered if there were any others. Two - The other day I was trying to "position" the ISS using the scenerio plug in. (yes I read the manual) I wanted the...

Support Helpful Graphic for Thorton's ISS (v3.2)

I had some trouble finding out which port was which number when I first started using this add-on, so I manually figured out which was which and made this graphic as a guide. The base image is from Wikipedia, I annotated it with the numbers. Hope someone else finds it useful. I didn't see...

    OHM Soyuz FG/U v1.2

What's a D3D9 client? (I know what a client is, just not a D3D9 one...) Are you saying that it CAN'T be done using the scenarios that Thorton included with the ISS for Soyuz?

    Question Username origins

TG626 is a composite, TG is used with a 3 digit number for Thai Airlines flights - I once was a virtual pilot for a virtual Thai Airline. the 626 part, which I used since those days, was chosen as it is Stitch's Experiment number in the animated movie Lilo & Stitch.

    OHM Universal Autopilots 0.3.1

Ok, I thought the AP locked out unsafe Time Accel amounts, my bad  Could you (would you) make that 10m distance for docking a variable we can change in the AP, if we wanted to?

    OHM Universal Autopilots 0.3.1

@ArtLav: Loving it man, but I notice one this that I think (like I know what I'm talking about, NOT!) should be easy to do. AP docking vectors sideways toward the docking port, often making it pass though parts of the ISS or other space station, and overall not being "prototypical". How hard...

    OHM Universal Autopilots 0.3.1

-2 DGs race from KSC to the Moon station.scn, long fun 100x acel causes them to go wildly out of control and crash (was done in atmo just a few seconds after becoming airborne. DGs start out off to the left of the runway, not on the runway. I've seen this before, and I saw somewhere that in...

    OHM Universal Autopilots 0.3.1

Perhaps in a future version you could make it so that it says "No Solution" when it tries and can't find one? When I first started using it, I thought I was screwing something up until I realized what was actually going on... (I never got to use RedShift since it was out of date when I started...

    Project Universal Autopilots alpha 100324

That's what I had figured, so I do it manually in Soyuz and use UAP for docking until it gets about 50m or so, then I take over manually so I don't feel like a tool
