Hi folks. Contrary to what I was expecting, the weather was OK this morning for viewing the eclipse- all be it only a partial one here in sunny/cloudy ol' England. Using my cheap Meade 'toy shop' telescope, and a wall/ceiling/manilla envelope as a projection screen, I snapped these shots on my phone:

Post any pictures you may have got from the eclipse here. :)

No chance to see anything here, the sun is behind high clouds, turning it into a huge blob of light

Moments after the maximum here near Marburg, Germany.
Taken with a pocket camera at 100 mm, through a 1:100,000 n/d filter foil (eclipse "sunglasses").

Don't have any pictures, but I have a nice image of the sun burned onto the back of my eye just now. Big blue circle with a chunk missing.

Looks pretty impressive though, and is also a good demonstration of how little good sunglasses to at blocking out the sun ;)

We had maximum phase (0.49) 30 minutes ago here in Riga, Latvia. I haven't processed all images yet, but I can show a nice photo.

Equipment: Meade DS-2114 scope (114 mm aperture, 1000 mm focus length) + 25 mm eyepiece, Nikon D40 camera with standart 18-55mm lens. I've photographed projection of Sun image on a sheet of paper.

Here's some from the ground zero...

Okay, guys, I've been there and seen that. :p

The site was the city of Barnaul, my hometown where I happen to be right now.

Here I go, together with my old TAL-110 'scope:

picture.php

I have projected the image of the eclipse on a sun observation screen, and it was great for viewing the partial phases:

this one is nearly there, about 99% :

Alas, the pic I've got on my screen was too faint for my camera to pick it on, so I quickly looked into the eyepiece and spotted a fabulous protuberance and corona. After that, I've taken some pictures poiting the camera right on the Sun.

Here you can see specks of Venus and Mercury alongside the eclipsed Sun:

And this is the best image, which is worse by far then the real thing anyway:

Here are also some Bailey Beads during the moon shadow's moving away:

If I hadn't been on a 36kbits connection here, I would have posted a video of how did it look when the darkness fell over, but you see - you will have to wait till my return to Moscow to see that.

Cheers,
Alexander

Wow! Cool! I also want to see that... Maybe 2017 August 21 (USA) or 2081 here in Germany again (if I get 89 years old).
