It seems that I am the only one to report this issue after checking. My issue pertains to the buran scenarios wherein I have properly installed every other add-on needed for them. I have multiple times installed the ENERGY Project addon to a fresh Orbiter install. The issue persists and I now require assistance. Please note there is no error message with the exception of a few terminal errors where I have installed other modules and/or addons.

The buran model never shows up nor is it registered to ORBITER when the scenario plays. No matter what I do to correct this and/or research the issue, no correction made fixes the problem. It just never shows up, is not playable, nor is it able to be used. Has anyone else had this problem and is there a possible solution I have missed?

Any help is appreciated,
Drakomis Kromulus

NOTE:

I have looked over the manuals and have found no reference nor troubleshooting advice concerning this issue. I have the proper C++ installed, my operating system is up to date and my computer is quite compatible with ORBITER space flight simulator.

If any specific logs are needed I will research further and provide the needed material.

FURTHER NOTE:

Every other aspect of the ENERGY Project Addon works correctly according to the additional add-ons required that are installed.

My guess would be that the Buran add-ons are not compatible with Orbiter 2010-P1. So it not a Energy Project problem but rather a problem with those specific add-ons.

This is quite possible and most likely the best possible answer to my issue. Please note I have started a simulation and added the proper log info for review. Maybe this log has the answer, personally I do not understand a word of it.

Thank you for your reply!

I've tried it myself and I've verified that none of the Buran addons available will work with Orbiter 2010 - they're all designed for pre-2006 versions of Orbiter.

Thank you very much for your assistance. I'm glad to find out that I haven't done anything wrong.

Thank you to both of you,

Its no surprise that such an old add-on doesn't work in 2010. Its a shame though because the Buran is a pretty good vessel. :(

Quite so. If I had the knowledge I'd make a version of it myself. Unfortunately I do not. I do so hope someone picks it up in the future for the enjoyment of the Orbiter community!

I did not understand what you said until I clicked the quote button. The [ code ] [ / code ] command will now be implemented in my post for the better enjoyment of all readers. Thank you kindly for the reminder.

AFAIK One is made for 2005 and the other for 2003. If only one of them got an update. :(

Here's a question, how would one go about updating something like that? Sounds like a pet project there. I'm actually starting to get interested to learn how to do that. That way no else has to deal with this problem, eh?

Drakomis

P.S.

Sent you a PM. Perhaps we can continue this conversation there?

The simplest solution is to recompile the add on for the 2010 version and replace any out of date functions. This is not challenging if the source code is available.

Thank you for for that! Due to my lack of experience, however, it is going to be quite difficult for me to figure this out on my own. I'm committed to trying to update the version but do have little time to. If you have any recommended reading material that may assist me, please let me know via private message or here.

Thank you very much,
Drakomis
