Guys, PursuitMFD autodock works great with Dragon, just follow my post above. ;) I can do a video tutorial when I get a chance, I've got to go get a rototiller today. Real life calls!

Very cool! Works well for me - set target vessel, target dock, own dock and distance - off it goes. Nice utility

I wonder if it's the VB1 version that is affecting it ?

This is What I have on the screen, with distance set to 0 0 0. Is it correct ? While this is being displayed, the ship is moving away laterally and vertically.

Hi Don,
can you post the scenario? I'll give it a try.

I had trouble docking the Shuttle with PursuitMFD, but Dragon and all other spacecraft I've tried have been fine. That's strange, looks and sounds like everything is set correctly.

EDIT: Actually, I see that Docking MFD on the right is using VIS mode, I wonder if PursuitMFD doesn't like that? Try setting the TGT dock manually.

Brian,

That's your DM_1 undocking and de-orbit scenario.

Also, PursuitMFD wouldn't let me select a target, until the target was selected in the Docking MFD. I'll play around with it.

Hi Don transx, interplanetary mfd, glideslope mfd,Hover MFD,aerobrake, pursuit mfd, camera mfd.,do you have attachment mfd if so then deactivate it ,that seems to solve similar problems I have had in the past, also try and deactivate all the modules, except for the ones your using with the Dragon.

I did deactivate Attachment manager. Do you have to be totally lined up to dock before pressing ADP ?

Just inline with the dock,I don’t think distance is a big issue,I usually don’t activate pursuit mfd until I am about 500ft or so in front of the dock.

I think Don's problem is the linear rate in the CFG. The linear rate drops if you open PursuitMFD while already docked to another vessel, because it calculates the optimal(?) rate for the total mass of the stack.

Don try this:

While undocked from the station:

Press MOD to go to the "Welcome select mode" screen
Press CFG and then RAT.
Press l 0.5 0.5 0.5 (or whatever rate you want)
(l = lower case L, for (l)inear)

Now BCK, DOC, TGT, iss, LDK, 1, TDK, 1 (or the # dock you want), DIS, 0 0 200 (or any distance you want to line-up) and APD to engage the AP.

If you see the MSG "NO ROLL" or "KILL ROLL" on the right lower corner, press NOR until it goes away.

Once there, press DIS again and set it to 0 0 -1 (this is to avoid getting "stuck" at 0.0001 meters from the dock, which happens sometimes).

Your docking AP should work as intended now.

SpaceX not working

Hello
I have downloaded all the addons required but cannot get this to work at all
The Rocket lies at an angle of 45 degrees to the tower and the Dragon COTS 2 scenario just crashes back to desktop
I am running orbiter 2016 on an ASUS 64bit laptop using windows 10
With thanks

How to change launch time for DM-2 ...

If I am writing a scenario for the DM-2, what changes (and where) do I make to alter the launch time?

I know I can do it through the Falcon9 Launch Control Panel (K), but I want to be able to change the Launch Autopilot in other ways, too.

Regards

A scenario for today's launch attempt.
Countdown timer is on, strongback is retracted.
As before, ASDS "OCISLY" is placed at the reported position which requires the 1st stage to fly on the 40deg azimuth, upper stage needs to do some steering to align planes with ISS. Is that what SpaceX do or is OCISLY position reported wrong?
EDIT: Hmm, I wonder if they have to launch on that azimuth to target the required abort zones. Next question, do they align planes with the upper stage or Dragon?

Hi,
can you post your orbiter.log? That might give us a clue to the problem.

Probably simpler to make changes using the Launch Control Panel (K), but you can edit the scenario - look at the "LOTM" line in the Falcon9 vessel section. The first 6 numbers are HH MM SS, the next number is 0 for off, or 1 for active.

Don, I just remembered something about the VesselBuilder version - do your "Drogue Cover" and "Main Cover" still have 1000kg mass in their .cfg's?
I'll bet that would throw off any autopilot in PursuitMFD. Change the masses to something nominal like 0.001kg.

Just a quality note based on today's flight. I was running the addons with a DM-2 scenario in parallel with the actual flight. Anyone else notice how smooth the image inside the Crew Dragon was? I think the camera shake in the addons is greater than it should be

Cheers all.

Your work is a great job.
