Question Dansteph UMMU 2 installation

I've been trying to install the Ummu2 from Dan's Orbiter page. Since the installer is meant for 2006, it says to manually install by creating a new folder with a text document title Orbiter.exe and extract into it. However, the installer doesn't recognize the text file or the folder it's in. It's simply not on the browse list. Anyone else had this issue and found a solution?

Is there a reason the current version of UMMU is not an option? Because really, it is superior in many respects.

If you don't want to use an interim release then that is your choice.

Oh I see, Dan's limited the installer for UMMU/UCGO 2.0 to Orbiter 2006, whereas before there was a 2010P1 installer. How strange.

I limited the installer to 2006 version so to make room for the new incoming version.

That is a little confusing if you're put off by the 2.5 WIP warnings.

So to get 2.0 in Orbiter 2010P1 you now have to do the Orbiter.exe file hack on the 2006 installer?! :shrug: Not really a problem I suppose; it's not like 2.5 is fatally buggy or incomplete...

2.5 is a WIP, but yet...dont worry about it.

I have been using 2.5 for a while now, but if you do see something about it that you think is a bug, please post about it on Dansteph's board so the rest of us on the beta team can do our thing.

What do you mean? All I see is that it's a work in progress. There is no download for 2.5.

Yes, it is the interim version and as I said above, if you don't want to use it then that's your choice.

Generally, Danstephs interim releases are more stable than some commercial software houses final releases.

UMMU 2.5 is included in the UCGO 2.5 package.
