I've forgot which way the US/UK write month/day, I use both now!

However, is it spoken differently? I'd normally say "July the Third, not the Tird of July.

The US uses M/D/Y exclusively when giving dates numerically. When using month names, the tendency is to say "July third" (no "the"), but "The third of July" is still in current use. I think it's in more frequent use for single digit days of the month, and for the last day of the month. It is also the usual form (often without the "The") used for Treason Day, errrr... The King is a Fink Day, *ahem*... Independence Day when it is specified as a date, (Fourth of July) rather than a named day.
