Hi all.

I'm trying to make a launch sound for a rocket.

I have recorded & edited the sound as I want it.
I have found a great tool to convert the sound into WAV format.
I have edited the config file for the vessel so as it plays the sound when the engines are fired.

However there is a problem: In the scenario, the wind is louder than the actual engine sound.
I think this is because the sounds are not formatted correctly - i.e. in the OrbiterSound info file, it says I need a format of 11025 or 22050 hertz, 16 bits mono.

Does anyone know how to format sounds to get these properties, or does anyone know of any free tools I can download that could do this??

Thanks,
-Pete

Far as I know it's the best of the best out there. It's done everything I could ever wish to do with sounds!

The best way to ensure full volume without distortion is to "Normalize" the .wav. IIRC Audacity has that option somewhere, perhaps in "effects".
