Sup. Im doing a tour around the solar systems with defined fuel stations I put there.
Im using a arrowfreighter as mothership (UCGO) and a XR2 ravenstar docked to it as transport vehicle for planetary landings.

WHen I got to land on planet venus, succes rates changed to the point of no return.
Reentry went very succesfull. Getting to the surface went slow, very slow. 32meter per second averyage velocity with minus 50 AOA.

Lets open the radiator! I opened it and rightaway cabin temperature was about to get in the red.
Oops! Cabin temperature alarm!
300feet away from touchdown ""not much later"" (havind had to do a one way trip anyway since the radiator was out of service) a lightbulb centered above my head.....LANDING GEARS!?:facepalm:

Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. YOU WILL ALL BURN IN HELL!
Landing gear goes down!
CABIN TEMPERATURE HULL TEMPERATURE WARNING! warning! warning!

Shortly summarized : How do I land on venus in a XR2 ravenstar and stay there to perform eva? That Without the spaceplane to roast inside out?
""""if possible""""

Landing on Venus I would guess cannot be possible unless you start turning things off in Orbiter, mainly the ship damage and the realistic flight dynamics.

But even with those two options off, you must still remember the landing gear.

To land on Venus you don't need a space ship, you need a heat resistant submarine!
The rate of descend you mentioned is a good example for it.

If you're overheating your hull on Venus you'll need to disable hull heating damage detection by editing your XR2RavenstarParefs.cfg file as shown below in red:

Code:
#--------------------------------------------------------------------------
# Enable or disable ship damage due to wing stress, hull heating, hard landings,
# crashes, excessive dynamic pressure, and SCRAM engine overheat.
#   0 = damage disabled
#   1 = damage enabled
#--------------------------------------------------------------------------
WingStressDamageEnabled=1
[COLOR="red"]HullHeatingDamageEnabled=0[/COLOR]
HardLandingsDamageEnabled=1
CrashDamageEnabled=1
DoorStressDamageEnabled=1
ScramEngineOverheatDamageEnabled=1
EnableDamageWhileDocked=1

You can also make that edit apply only to your scenario if you wish; details are in the XR Flight Operations Manual.
