Hi all,

As many of you may know, NASA are allowing you to submit videos, all of which will be launched on the Ares I flight.
The site is here:

http://www.nasa.gov/externalflash/myexploration/index2.html

When I try to upload my video in IE (it is a 32MB WMV file), once upload reaches 100%, it cancels, and I get:

ERROR: null and sometimes ERROR: not selected

Can anyone offer any help?

Thanks.

Try another browser, such as Google Chrome and Firefox (the fastest).

Wait a minute, they are going to launch videos on a rocket????

Yeah, well, they're going to launch digital versions stored in flash memory or something along those lines, no video cassettes or film reels I'm guessing.

I guess the vibration dampening equipment won't add enough useless mass to this thing. Are they hard up for ballast or something?

Right, because digital storage weighs so very much.

Woop! You showed me.
In other words, you got told? I think it's time for the chart!

Given that, I believe the following is in order: "Oh snap!"

More specifically (and less sarcastically), given the extremely low cost of digital storage media these days, it wouldn't surprise me in the least if the computers which are already going to be onboard Ares have plenty of extra storage for this kind of PR action. Although the jury is still out on how much a gigabyte weighs, I highly doubt that this will add anything significant.

I did it because I always wanted to see how it was "to go in a blaze of glory." :p
