I am running Orbiter 2010 and recently install NASSP for the Apollo missions. When I try to run any of the scenarios, it get a message, "Terminating after critical error, check orbiter.log for details." The orbiter log reads

I'd appreciate any help with this. Thanks

What version of NASSP is this? What scenario were you running at the time? What other addons do you have in that Orbiter installation? Details, details, details. :)

Looks like NASSP isn't isntalled properly or is missing something because Sol_NASSP5.cfg is missing from the config directory as per the log file.

As Xyon says, you are missing a lot of details!

that should answer your question xyon.

Edit; ACK! ninja'd again!

I've tried all scenarios. None of them work. Now that I think about it, none of the addons I've installed myself work properly. I used the self-installing one's that DanSteph made and they work fine. But any addon that I have to unzip and install manually doesn't seem to work. Maybe there's a problem with my installation?

sounds a lot like you aren't unzipping them to the right locations. What zip software are you using?

And HOW did you unzip the files and install them into orbiter? Did you make sure that the content of the meshes folder went into the orbiter meshes folder? contents of config into the config folder and so on?

What do you mean "in and out"?

When you have to do is MERGE the contents of the addons meshes folder with the one in the orbiter folder.

So, lets say you have an addon that has a mesh called abc.msh in a folder called meshes.

What you do is drop the MESHES folder onto orbiter MESHES folder, this will add the mesh (abc.msh) into orbiters meshes folder.

You do the same with config, modules, textures, scenarios and so on.

Does that make sense?

Yes. I've been doing that, but I've been using the same Orbiter file for all of my addons. Should I be using a different Orbiter?

Ok, lets try this from a different angle.

Can you do a search for Sol_NASSP5.cfg and tell us where it's found?

I checked the NASSP CVS checkout I currently have and I have neither this file nor any references to it in the packed scenarios. I would therefore suspect you have an older or incomplete copy of NASSP.

Follow the instructions here. Use a clean install of Orbiter for the purpose as detailed on the page.

Not if he follows those instructions, he won't be.

If you installed Tortoise like the instructions said then you'll have more information than that. What didn't work? Did a file fail to download? Did the folder reject being written to because of permissions? Is your hard drive full? Did an internet pixie run off with the packets destined for your router? Specificity, please. What didn't work?
