hi orbinauts, for some reason my orbiter exits to desktop when loading scenario..can' figure out what could be the problem i'm on win10 using dx9 client ..

Is it just the D3D9 client you're having issues with? Or does the default client work?

Could you try to run in Window mode instead of Full Screen?
Also, try other resolutions and refresh rates.
Could you also disconnect the joystick?

Looks like Atlantis and/or ProjectAlpha_ISS are kind of misbehaving...
Would you try starting the Scenario "Scenarios\Delta-glider\DG Mk4 in orbit.scn" and see if that works?
And also you could try to run it with all Modules disabled. If that runs O.K. you can re-enable one Module after the other, try and see which one might cause the issue.

And also you could try to run it with all Modules disabled. If that runs O.K. you can re-enable one Module after the other, try and see which one might cause the issue.
same problem with every scenario and module settings ):

It seems more like a graphics problem... don't know what.

Lion69, could you try to run with the Intel integrated GPU? Right click on the .exe and choose "Run with graphics processor" and it should display the available GPUs.

first installment on this machine and OS...i installed the June 2010 runtimes..no luck:unsure:
What about the one in the Install folder?

@Lion69 You should run this procedure to see if it works. Try this in window mode please!

Interesting, I assume that the runtime libraries Orbiter itself needs (vc_redist.x86.exe, I think) were not properly installed.
It would be nice to figure out what exactly was wrong, but hey now you've your setup running I think the case is solved ?

maybe the zip archive was downloaded incompletely
line in the log WARNING: Obsolete API function used: VESSEL::CreateVariableDragElement
tries to load the ship but fails

@macVsog : possible, but in my experience incompletely loaded ZIPs usually don't extract well most of the time.
