Sounds like you just don't know how to render properly with Vegas. I am not sure about the trial version, but the complete pro edition will render a video is lots of different formats. I use Divx at 1000 bit rate which makes for good quality and reasonable file size. For HD videos I render 1080HD Divx and it's never more than 500MB or so, 1.2GB is crazy big for a short video.

I've used you're settings, now having it at 130MB's.

I think there's something up with astrosammy's video. I've been waitimng for more than half an hour and it still hasn't downloaded more than half of the 6 minutes. Maybe it needs to be compressed more?
