I have to agree with you. It really does look like an airplane contrail.

It's a twin engine jet, it's definetly contrails.

Ohhh nooo, please not. Yes, it's contrails. Nothing special at all. But I can already hear twitter the chemtrail conspiracy theorists from their rooftops...

I can see how that would look like a contrail, I live by the airport and get to almost see them on a daily basis. However, that object has some distinctions over a jet contrail. When you look trough all the available videos you notice 3 distinct heads where the trail emanates from. Second one is the size of the trail for the altitude. In pictures and high quality videos that show both the trail and the ground at the same time, you can see the size/altitude ratio is far grater than that of a contrail. The last one being the way the trail behaves and dissipates. Pull up a few videos of Mir and Columbia re-entering the atmosphere, you can clearly see the resemblance.

In my opinion this was ether a good sized meteor that broke up on entry, or some nations dirty laundry (intelligence satellite).

I live near Heathrow EGLL and I see contrails like this all the time.

The closest airport to me is PBIA, and I see them all the time as well.
