I am wondering the best launch date from earth to Venus and to mars. When I got to venus. In IMFD I then planned my next leg, but to mars. It would be a high ecc orbit.

High ecc doesnt mean too much, just thar you need to use more fuel for orbit insertion... its only a problem when your ecc is in double figures

It really depends on your current situation at Venus. Are you in orbit around Venus? If so, you'll need to set Venus as your SRC in IMFD plan then use the orbit eject function.

Are you just passing by? If so, a slingshot might be your best bet. Otherwise, wait until you leave the Venus SOI and then set the plan with yourself as the source.
