Hi all from Italy...
I have a problem with the orbiter scenario editor: I create a new space station (read: ESS add-on), orbiter put it on LEO as a default location, and that's right...
...then I try to edit this location, for example in orbit around Mars, so I change the orbital elements and set the orbit reference as "Mars" (frame "equator") but SMa change too, giving me a hyperbolic orbit (negative value of SMa), and there's no way to change in an elliptical orbit, I cannot set a positive value. Also for Ecc, no way to change it with a 0<e<1 value.
So... why it happens?
Thanks for all

Set it onto the mars surface, first make the SMa higher and after that make the Ecc lower, watch Orbit MFD while changing that (set time acceleration to 0.1x).

Yup, that's pretty much how you've gotta do it. Annother alternative is to fly a craft where you want the station to go.

There's no other way, using the scenario editor.

But another way is to edit the scenario file as a text.
Take a scenario with the orbital elements you want, such as ISS.
Copy/paste your new space station into the file.
Copy the orbital elements from the ISS and paste them over the new SS.
Cut out the ISS
Save

Et voilá! You now have a new space station copying the orbital path of the ISS.

I can't even find ESS in the scenario editor vessel list?! I can load it fine with the pre-defined scenarios that came with the ESS. Can anyone please help?

Hi,
just put your ess.cfg file in the orbiter\config\vessels folder
now you can find the ESS space station in the list
cheers
