My two long time favorites for STS going uphill from the external tank cam view...

St. Martins-in-the-Fields/Sir Neville Mariner - Canon in D
(IMO best to start at 1:25)

Brian Eno - Drift

Right behind you - don't look!
Well, here is a personal favourite of mine...

... Which of course needs some massive turbine noise from Yamato's mighty engines to be complete.

Again from Uchuu Senkan Yamato's soundtrack, this classic:

From Gundam (MS IGLOO: The Hidden One Year War), the opening song Sora no tamoto:

I would add more but my playlist would get in a gravity saber match with the bandwidth...

I like to listen to this whenever I fly a Soyuz.

Now THAT'S a guy with a sense of humor!

My contribution of relevancy. It's a favorite of mine both in the car, and in space.

Lyrics:

If we both stand with absent eyes
And think about the oceans . . . watch 'em dry
We can see far to the other side
It's you and I forever. We don't have to hide.
If we ignore the signals that mission control will send
It's one big ship ride anyway; this hell will never end.
We gaze out on what they left of the stars
All we see now we can take as ours

You two've got just moments left to give
Come back now and we will let you live
Stay inside our blue protective eye
We won't let them take you; we won't let you die

My baby spins propellants, my systems set to blow
She's at the milky way now, spelling into snow
And she's constructed flashpoints to cover up the sun
I sleep under glass . . .
I know that she will wake me when she's done.

. . .

I miss certain parts of the 90's . . .

did you know, that originally, that song was about a cowboy in kentucky going home to see his wife? However, the soviets banned the use of those words, so he had to make random mouth noises for two minutes instead of a song...:tiphat:

Since Mr. Eduard Khil is in season in this thread, I got some Orbiter-worthy songs I like to play as part of Trinity Station's international radio:

He really is a talented musician.

The most epic song by Floyd:

The theme of solitude goes well with space, along with the slow tempo.
Truly a masterpiece :salute:

And a few more...

Antonin Dvorak, Tempo di valse (Serenade for strings in E Major, Op 22)

Two others worth mentioning...

Moonraker "Flight Into Space" - John Barry

Major Tom (Völlig losgelöst) - Peter Schilling

The Wilderness, N.B.

Just watched and enjoyed this movie. The parts of its soundtrack that don't have random dialogue from the film in them (I hate it when they do that) work excellently with Orbiter, especially shots of faraway planets.

This song comes to mind to me lately. Since I got into watching the whole series in its entirety(all 26 episodes). I just love the groovy beat.

This place called "home".
On my OrbiterSound-playlist when in space, I have added the entire album "In the Shadow of the Moon Original Soundtrack". I recently bought it on amazon, and it's awesome!
