OSCE summit changed plans of the Cosmonauts

text: /Infox.ru

Due to holding of OSCE summit in the capital city of Kazakhstan, Astana, on Dec. 1-2, the Cosmonauts will have to return to Earth sooner. Russian Mission Control Centre (TSUP-M) calculated a new landing date for Soyuz TMA-19 spaceship with Russian Cosmonaut Fyodor Yurchikhin and American Astronauts Shannon Walker and Duglas Wheelock aboard.

"Head of Manned Programs of Roscosmos ordered the primary operating group of MCC-M and Energia corp. to consider a new landing date for Soyuz TMA-19's landing, which was due to return to Earth on November, 30th. This correction was called by closure of airspace over entire Kazakhstan due to holding of OSCE summit" - said a source of Interfax news agency.

According to Roscosmos representative, landing of the spaceship will commence, most probably, around 6 o'clock Moscow time on November, 26th. The backup date would be Nov., 27th".

The source also said that the spaceship should land at about 70 km to North of Kazakh town Arkalyk. "Thus, the landing will happen before November, 28th from which date Kazakh airspace is to be closed due to OSCE summit in Astana".

Roscosmos PAO: "Soyuz TMA-19 Crew may Return from the ISS 4 Days Earlier".

OSCE summit may to take place in Astana on Dec. 1-2, may move the date of the Soyuz TMA-19 landing. The vehicle is to return Russian Fiodor Yurchikhin, US Shannon Walker and Douglas Wheelock to the Earth, may land in Kazakhstan not on Nov. 30, as planned earlier, but on Nov. 26, early in the morning.
The change is caused by the decision of the Kazakh party to restrict the air traffic a few days before the summit, RIA Novosti informs. Following the request by Roscosmos, RSC-Energia and MCC ops investigate landing opportunities.
The landing is tentatively scheduled at 6 a.m., Nov. 26, 70 km to the North of Arkalyk. Back-up landing date is Nov. 27.

Roscosmos PAO: "Soyuz TMA-19 to Land on November 26".

Crew members on the International Space Station will return to Earth early because of an international summit being held near their landing site.
A Russian cosmonaut and two American astronauts and, wrapping up a five-month tour on the space station, are scheduled to land their Russian Soyuz TMA-19 capsule on the central steppes of Kazakhstan on Nov. 26, four days earlier than originally planned. The landing had been set for Nov. 30, but Kazakh officials decided to restrict air traffic before the start of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe summit in Astana, Kazakhstan, set for Dec. 1-2.
Soyuz is to depart from the station at 04:19 MSK (01:19 GMT). The vehicle is to land at 7:46 (04:46 GMT), 84 km away from the city of Arkalyk.
After the departure of NASA astronauts Shannon Walker and Douglas Wheelock and Russian cosmonaut Fyodor Yurchikhin, the space station will be down to a three-person crew until mid-December, when Catherine Coleman, Paolo Nespoli and Dmitri Kondratyev arrive to round out the outpost's Expedition 26 crew.
