On the scenario. Launch
SBS separation burn 1/00:13:25 16 fps, 169x160 nm orbit
Telesat separation burn 1/08:21:20 16 fps, 160x169 nm orbit

Get the TLE data and load into the editor. Adjust the Time (MET 1/00:13:25) make the Alt 160 NM

Not sure on the orientation of the shuttle?

We get this for the sbs3 launch.
s7eEWSE.jpg

Shuttle lights on. Sure seems dark though

a6FqheX.jpg

I used the Attitude from SF. But as you can see the sun is behind the shuttle. From the orbit diagram. The Sun should be to the side?

Something seems wrong from the video the earth is lit. Here the sunshield are closing.

and as you can see the earth is lit. the SBS3 satellite is there.

STS-5 Launch

Et separation about 9 minutes MET
l69dJPU.jpg

Ri88v8e.jpg

guidance:
-30.000 =orbit(104,317,28.5,-1) -6.0 =engine(0,100,6) 3.0 =engine(100,100,1.00) 30.0 =engine(100,72.00,5.00) 55.0 =engine(72.0,100,5.00) 536.0 =jettison()

I made a new ET even though it is a SWT for STS 5 it had a white nose cone

I have run into an issue. I need the MET on the shuttle to start on launch. In the original Atlantis there is a line "status" that changed based of SRB/Et separation.

But I need something like shuttle lifted off so start met.

MET += simdt;

So on STS 5,... I wonder about the shuttle orientation when the ET separates?

Looking at STS 6

There is a gauge on the side of the ASE part that rotates.

On the ASE there seems to be at least 2 types. The front frame gold foil or white.
sts 6 the frame is gold foil.

Any thoughts?

Front IUS ASE frame white was only in sts-93... but... the on AFT IUS frame: that white box on the left front. It was covered with gold-orange foil in 90-ies (late TDRS flights)...

I might try to add that gauge. I try to reproduce the images of the real shuttles. One thing that can be done is the CCTV cameras. In STS 6 they are gold and in some silver. The way to do it is just a new texture. gold foil or silver foil. And add a line in the scenario CCTVS or CCTVG?

I may need to rotate the gauge and indicator. So it can be seen by the camera?

Oh the IUS ASE. Lookiing at drawings. The Pivot is even with eth trunnions.
jBPmbu0.jpg

gPDWOMN.jpg

But in Orbiter it is with centerline of the IUS. I understand why. Because if you had it in the correct spot the IUS would rotate weirdly. Because of the difference in the Y values.

Just going to use the ASE position below. Not gauge.

This is what we have:
jtAvnPM.jpg

red circle is where the real pivot was.
orange is the pivot on the mesh
blue is the center line of the inside of the ASE aft where the IUS fits,
There are 2 attachments in the shuttle that rotate for the ASE both need to be the same or else the alignment off the IUS gets off.
One is the rotation of ASE and the other IUS
If we go with the real point I think all we need to do is readjust the IUS attachment so that it matches the real pivot.
If we just keep the pivot as STS_Payloads has it. Then the gauge really can't be done. Because it rotates on the pivot. The pointers on the part attached to the shuttle
FSB1jD4.jpg

CQXDT7T.jpg

d6tzwfS.jpg

Another thing that needs to be done is the gold foil parts need to move inward
bPsN7AP.jpg

That is part of the device that rotates the frame

Any thoughts?

Redid it.

In the real one there seems to be a white cube that the pointers attach. So that would not rotate. But the real video doesn't see the cube?

I have noticed an issue.

This is how the scenario starts. I have attachment manager open. You can see the attachment info matches the cfg. BUT the IUS is off
DaqacD0.jpg

Then if I press Modify attachment

it is good.

I think it is a sc3 issue. VB works.
Looked at STS 30
old ASE
rPsxBKX.jpg

new ASE
xjGaGYb.jpg

But I wonder shouldn't the usa on the IUS be facing up?

Then Glow or not glow?
