STS-26 is now sitting on pad 9 minutes bifore launch.
Liftoff will occur at 10:38:08 UT.

It is the riturn at flight of Endeavour Space Shuttle after the landing accident that damaged the orbiter at the end of STS-20 mission, more than 12 month ago.

Endeavour will deliver the second set of port solar arrays to the station, plus a new long arm that will be used for truss assembly and will be brought back on Earth at the end of this mission.

The crew is composed by capt.Solomon and Kamala, and mission specialists Kelso, Gor'kij, Okamoto and Willoughby.

2 primary EVAs are scheduled, the first for preparation and testing of ARM-2, the second for assembly of the P6 truss; eventually, a 3rd EVA will be performed for maintenance outside the station, if needed.

STS-26 liftoff was smooth and without problems, and occurred at 10:38:08 UT.
Roll program was nominal and pitch now underway; crew is now riding to orbit and waiting for booster separation.

Orbit was achieved successfully and RCS manouver was performed following ET separation.
Endeavour now flying toward OMS-2 burn.

2 days after launch, Endeavour catched up Celestia Space Station, and docked with it's forward PMA-2.
After checks, hatch was opened and the 6 STS-26 crewmembers were received by resident equip of Expedition 4.

<<STS-26 Update 4 , 04 Aug 2010>>
Mission specialist Kelso conducted the 1st EVA of the missionto guide the attachment of the ARM-2 atop the HighGainAntenna Truss, and test it's movement in view of tomorrow crucial operation of manipulation of P6 truss.

<<STS-26 Update 5 , 05 Aug 2010>>
P6 has been rised into space from the shuttle bay by ARM-2, and moved to the end of port truss segment P5, after folding P4 solar arrays to allow better movement of the mechanic arm.
Specialist Willoughby monitored the procedure during the 2nd scheduled EVA, that lasted 2,5 orbits.

Early this morning Spe.Okamoto in his EMU guided the rimotion of the ARM-2 from it's docked position atop the Antenna Truss, and reposed it into the shuttle bay for return on the Earth together with the Shuttle Endeavour.
Undocking is scheduled for tomorrow early morning, 7 Septemper 2010.

Endeavour undocked from station Celestia as expected early this morning, and performed fly around to inspect and take pictures of the new configuration.
No crew changes were made, as they will occur as soon as Expedition 5 reaches station 5 days from now.

<<STS-26 Final Update , 08 Aug 2010>>
Mission complete: Endeavour landed in the orange dawn of Kennedy Space Center after 8 days in space.
Crew was recovered and orbiter and Arm-2 were taken for maintenance for future missions.

Mission duration: 7days : 23hours : 45minutes
Mean orbital duration: 93 mins.
Mean orbital altitude 385 km
Number of orbits: 124
Km flown: 5.261.816 Km
