Student scientist solves astrophysics mystery

A Melbourne student has discovered a part of the universe that astrophysicists have spent decades trying to find.

Undergraduate student Amelia Fraser-McKelvie, 22, was on a summer scholarship at Monash University when she managed to crack a mystery that until now had baffled scientists.

Many have long thought the universe has a greater mass than they can actually see but have been unable to prove it is there.

Ms Fraser-McKelvie did a targeted X-ray search for the matter and found it.

I haven't seen anything about this from other sources. Does anyone have more info?
