Hi everyone!

First of all, as this is my first post, thanks to all the people that make the "Orbiter Experience" more beautiful!!
So, my name's Alexander, I'm from Russia, Saint-Petersburg! Rains and wind everyday
I'm 23 years old and now I'm working in Web Development. But as hobby I write my own POSIX-like OS kernel

And, nice to meet you all :)

Welcome. It's a nice community, and also a great time to be playing Orbiter. I've seen it evolve over the years, and there is some quite fascinating stuff happening, now with it being open source and stuff like realistic clouds and the inside of space stations making their way into the game.

Hello there,

i am a simple guy from eastern Europe. I watch Tex on youtube,.and, well, what can i say, you are amazing teacher and orbinaut :) If not your tutorials and videos in general on orbital mechanics, i would not know a damn about it. So here i am. Started to look in to this around 3 or 4 years ago. I'm a casual player, so nothing special :)

Hi everyone!

Trying Orbiter 2016 after years spent on Orbiter 2010, I absolutely love this sim and what a steep learning curve it has been indeed!

See you all in space =)

Since we have brand new forum, I was thinking of starting a "Get to know each other thread". Just a little way to bring the community a little closer together. Maybe we share common interests, excluding Orbiter :).

Just to kick things off:

What's up!?

My name is Dan Moser. I'm a student at Indiana State University in Terre Haute, Indiana, Great Ole USA. I'm a professional pilot major and absolutely love everything I am studying. I'm eighteen and discovered Orbiter two and half years ago.

I love flight simulation, currently I play with FS2004, Orbiter, and IL2. My profile name has the RAF92 tag because I am in an online virtual squadron that I joined up in 2003. I've good friends with the other guys for some time now. I play guitar and play my favorite tunes to my favorite band, U2. Yes, I love Bono, Edge, Adam, and Larry.

I consider myself knowledgeable about flight simulation and in flight itself, so if you have a question, I'll be happy to answer it or do my best to assist you.

Best of wishes!
Glad to be here! Aerospace engineering and astrophysics are my strong suit and Orbiter really fills in my niche!

Hi all! Coming back after ~12 years to see how orbiter has evolved (and finally making my first post here :p). I'm glad orbiter and this forum still exist. Maybe the old addiction comes back again. Guess there's a lot to catch up with.

I'm Gareth from Wrexham in North Wales, UK. I'm 30 years old and work as a programmer/report writer for a college.

Always been interested in flight sims, right from probably 5 years old when I first bought the ZX Spectrum and it came with a game called "Flight Simulation", although at 5 years old, I hadn't got a clue what I was doing, and the rather sparse graphics didn't help a great deal either!

Since around 2002, I've got into flight sims again. I've always preferred the more sedate pace of stuff like MSFS than being chased down by enemies in IL2 and other similar games, although I did like TFX back in the early days of owning a PC (1994-ish).

I've also always had an interest in astronomy and physics and I completed a BSc in astrophysics at Cardiff Uni in 1998, but in the 9 years since then, I've barely used it.

I found Orbiter probably 18 months or more ago but I hadn't got a clue what I was doing, so I uninstalled it. Then a year or so ago after watching one of the shuttle launches on Sky News, I decided to give it another look. It really is a game that you have to "RTFM" in order to know what you're doing and it takes a lot of work, but it gives a great sense of achievement when you get something right!
I had the zx spectrum when it first came out and have done flight sims and orbiter ever since. (old) there for a reason.
