Problem Text box when starting Orbiter

i just downloaded the latest release and every time i try and start i get a dos text box then nothing happens

DOS text box? (DOS is dead already since Windows 2000)

You mean a console window? Can you show a screenshot of the window?

Are you running orbiter.exe or Orbiter_ng.exe?

Chances are, you are running orbiter_ng. That is an application for external graphics plugins, so if you don't have any installed, nothing will show up. The application you want to run is simply called orbiter. It is illustrated by the red arrow below, while what you are running is shown by the black arrow.

i managed to get it working i just used the msi installer but now the gauges look pixelated
