Hey all, so I thought it would be cool to add a booster to the xr-2 with this:

and what i got was this:

picture.php

:lol:

I did it by changing the multistage.ini to include the ravenstar mesh like this:

Code:
[MISC]
cog=26.5
GNC_DEBUG=1
FOCUS=1

[TEXTURE_LIST]
TEX_1=Exhaust2

[STAGE_1]
MeshName="Atlantis_SRB"
Height=38.5
Diameter=3.71
EmptyMass=1754
FuelMass=25216
Thrust=739770.
angle=0.
off=(0,0,0)
BurnTime=202.
ENG_TEX=Exhaust2
ENG_PSTREAM1=exhaust
ENG_PSTREAM2=contrail
ENG_1=(0,0,-19.25)
ENG_DIAMETER=3.0

[PAYLOAD_1]
Mass=26255
off=(0,3.75,-6.)
Name="XR1-01"
MeshName="XR2Ravenstar\XR2Ravenstar"
Module=XR2Ravenstar
SPEED=(0,15.,0)

any ideas or familiarity with multistage that might help here???

OH and when I jettison the booster, the ravenstar suddenly appears just like it's supposed to...

The mesh is encrypted so when you use something like multistage to access it the mesh appears messed up. Only the XR2's own DLL is able to decrypt it and show it properly.

Mesh is encrypted

Oops, Ninja'd by Garyw :ninja:

aw nuts. so I take it since the xr-1 looks fine, the xr-1 is not encrypted? It is just not compatible then?

I guess I can just pretend it's a fancy fairing, exhibiting the cutting edge of modern technology.

or you could use UCD as an alternative attachment method or maybe velcro?

I'll look into that this weekend, thanks! :thumbup:

Try adding the line RENDER=1 in the payload section.

I thought I'd seen something like this done before though.

put another XR-2 in your scenario ahead of the multistage.

Or yeah, use velcro to attach an SRB to the XR-2. Velcro works fine with the XR-2 (for the most part). I use it all the time for a launch vehicle.
