Download a copy of "Go Play In Space", it is a must read/follow guide for new orbitnauts. Keep in mind this is not "Wing Commander", but if you stick with it you may find that you are spending waaaaay too many hours in front of your monitor. And then nit-picking the latest Star Trek movie for lack of realism.
