November 16, Mojave, California – XCOR Aerospace announced today that it has completed work on its Lynx simulator system, built by Protobox LLC in conjunction with the Air Force Research Lab (AFRL) at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio.:thumbup:

Sim fun

Yes, flying the sim is one of the perks of my job. Funny thing is, as a non-pilot I have fewer preconceptions than our experienced test pilots and have come up with interesting ways to fly the bird. It turns out that my modest skydiving experience is in some ways more applicable than their years of flying aircraft including fighters, because a large part of the flight profile is near vertical.

Who knew that my solo tracking jumps thirty years ago would be useful for flying a rocket plane decades later?
