Loru: is there any approximate release date for a beta?

Great job with the modeling of the crew, I have some knowledge in 3D and is (to me, at least) very difficult to model a human body.

Greetings.

All rookies ?
You'll be able to define which mesh will occupy what seat via ini/cfg file so no problem of making new ones.

Loru: is there any approximate release date for a beta?

Nope. I'll write when it will be close to release.

Wait... are they ANIMATED????

Nope. They're static meshes in obiter however in 3ds max they have skeleton/skin system so re-posing them is just matter of minutes. I had to use this feature after I spent few hours adjusting not "skinned" mesh to AV-88 seat.

In the picture those coulored boxes are parts I'm moving and "skin" follows the movement and adjusts itself to pose. Then it's just matter of exporting final pose to msh file.

Totally forgot how they looked :/. Ok - next iteration will use Behemoth as inspiration. :P

Only if you paint the whole XR3 black. Just in case you are not sure how black: #000000; until something more black is discovered.

(Personally, I would prefer the cast of Planetes in an Orbiter spacecraft...)

.oO(And I could use some Agathodaimon now... but that would scare my coworkers in the new office away)

Some news:
I'm slowly positioning and exporting crew meshes for use inside craft (there are at least 2 models for interior for each crew members ). Crew will be fully configurable with variable set of meshes (for example you can have crew member with laptop etc.)

Also there will be Crew SDK so users could model new meshes (seat and controls template will be provided in msh, obj and 3ds format).

RCS is coded, and doug is currently working on flightmodel.

XR3 Phoenix 3dmodel in its current state is available on turbosquid is someone wants it, or want to support developement (not mandatory).
