How boring...FPS as movie...Not that I don't like FPS, but I don't think they are even nearly as good as movie. Maybe Duke Nukem 3D could have a chance..

I would personally like to get Secret of Monkey Island as movie. Maybe with a Cameo of Johnny Depp.

Or Simon the Sorcerer...

If you like to let a movie play inside a universe of a game, I would personally prefer Syndicate or UFO:Enemy Unknown.

Also, there are many real world history events, which are badly missed out by movies... Just imagine the Conquest of Mekka. With Mel Gibson as Mohammed. Now, that would be fun. Not the movie. But the explosive atmosphere afterwards.

Call of duty 4, although it's practically a movie in the first place
Half-life 1/2 plus EPs

Easily. You come up with a hardly believable script, you make crappy sets out of cardboard, and recruit you buddies as actors, despite the fact that their acting is horrid. Then, you use Orbiter for the outside shots.

Once put all together, it looks really, really crappy, except for the Orbiter part.

If I lived in hollywood, and had money, the only thing that would not change would be the script. And the crappyness.

I can easily imagine making movies in the world of 2001....

But that is already a movie...

Hmm...movies from World of 2001? That's actually a neat idea, stories set in the same time and setting but which have nothing to do with Heywood Floyd. Unfortunately, it's now 2009 so the idea is a little late...

It has already the advertising for an Orbiter movie.
It also has a theater in the city.
Fly low enough and you will find it.

I would like to see the X-box game "Quantum Redshift" turned into a movie; think "Speed Racer" with hovercraft, legal street circuits, speeds in excess of 900 KM/H (That's just around the hairpins! Top speed: 1,600+ KM/H) and even more legal weapons. That would be cool
