Hi,
is it possible to convert a .msh file in a other format that can be used
in a 3d programm.
Because I want to add something to an existing mesh.
Easy.
There are many way to convert from mesh to another format.
Try ar81's meshwizard; it can convert to anim8or format and .obj format.
There is my problem.
The mesh I want to convert in mesh wizard cannot be opend.
It crashs with an runtime error when I want to open it.

Ah.
I've had that problem before. What mesh are you trying to export?
I'm trying to open the USSVoyager mesh from the trekpack on orbithangar.
Ah.
Are you planning to release this mesh?
If so, perhaps you should ask the developer of the mesh first.
I want to add a gear an mayby animations to the warp engines.
First I want to make this for my private use and when it lookes good I mayby release it. But if so I would ask the author for the premission.
But with mesh wizard I cannt open it as I said before.
Ah.
Did you try the link posted by liber? What modelling program are you using?
Currently I'm not using any specific program. It depends on to which format I can convert my mesh.
I tried the link posted by liber. When the program says it has finished converting I look in my folder and there is no obj file.

Oh my mistake. I'm using vista and I must launch the converter as atministrator. Now I have my obj file. Which 3d programm must I use to open .obj files.
Try with Anim8or.
