My point exactly. I'm not saying they are "equal" in the sense that two scalar quantities are "equal." As I thought the sentence before that made clear, I was saying that they are equal in that they both accomplish the jobs that they need to.

They are equivalently useful for their respective countries, just as the apple is as useful to the apple-grower as the orange is to the orange-grower.

Yeah, that's still not equal.

Equality implies that they are interchangeable. Two interchangeable bolts can be switched places without any noticeable difference. Equal rights means that the rights one person has are absolutely the same as the rights as another person. You could switch the people's names on the 'rights document' and nobody would notice a difference.

The Russian AF and the USAF are two very different Air Forces. For one thing the USAF has an airlift capacity better than the rest of the world combined.

China's AF seems to suit their needs are they equal to Russia's or that of the US? No. China has the largest AF but the majority are Vietnam era craft.

The DPRK has one of the largest armies in the world and they seem to meet Kim's needs does that make his army equal to another nation?

Please get this false notion of equality out of your head. Very little it this world is equal.
