Moaning about the weather

That is ironically fitting actually.

We laughed at europeans skating in their cars across a slight snow cover, and now lo and behold, here comes weather we can't handle, and now it's our turn to skate in our cars across the streets.

Actually, the problem is not the snow cover, but the ice that formed by superfreezing rain. I doubt you have a better patent against it, as spikes on the tires of the car... which are illegal here, because they ruin the asphalt.

Snow alone also causes some trouble here, but usually mostly because of the inverse proportional relation between brain mass and maximal power of the car.

I will moan...

This is meant to be summer, we have had 2 summer days.

For my moaning...well, if I have any complaints about the weather, it is the fact that I needed 1 hour for properly deicing my car today. It was first of all completely covered in 5 mm ice, that made it impossible to open the doors, After freeing the driver door and putting a heater in, the rest was a bit simpler, but the next problem spot had been huge (20 cm thick) stalagmites of ice below my car, which connected it firmly to the ground...

Snow? HERE? Madness! Oh my G- snow! Very lightly for ten minutes or so. But there were probably some hailstones too.

Well, good thing i didn't follow your invitation to Brisbane. Cairns sees some fine weather, not much rain, not much sun.
Good luck with the flood.

No lows in the area, Otherwise things would be bad up there.
The rain has cleared here too. All sunny and fine ;)

Between Brisbane and Cairns though is a different story.

Adding to that, the size of the area affected by the floods is the size of France and Germany combined.

Australia is being weird this summer. We've got devistating floods in Queensland, my sister actually who lives in Emerald is the towns that are cut off sadly. Melbourne one day got a 40 degree heat which is strange for Melbourne.
We also have a saying in Australia that rain doesn't cool things down it only makes it wet and hot.
Ryan.

I'm freaking out because of the weather here:

In the last months, I have missed a lot of astronomical events because of cloudy weather. Two or three meteor showers (two were the bests of 2010 and 2011), and the first solar eclipse visible from Portugal in years. :beathead:
