No, i do not like any sort of Hip Hop. But just on the side, what would the "foreign" poll option include?

Tinie tempah or some other dude who is not singing in america...
And not those Russian people who rap in american...

I can listen to maybe few hip hop songs, any more and it becomes annoying. On the other hand I can listen to Rock and Heavy Metal 24/7 :headbang: and it never gets boring.

If a hip hop song would take me more than 10 minutes to write and record, I might have a tiny bit more respect. As I said before. The tunes that I do take weeks to write and record. The production values of the typical hip hop tune today is pretty much complete laziness and just slapping something together really quick to get it out the door so they can produce 100 new tracks by the end of the day.

Then do it. I see you rant all the time how easy it is to make hip hop songs, why you are sitting here and complain? make at least 48 hip hop songs per day and sell them, you could be rich.

Or is the truth maybe, that you are just capable of producing cheap parodies of Hip hop but nothing that can even contest with real hip hop, because even the selection of the right samples go beyond your skills?

Just as example that just sampling everything isn't getting you far, careful selection of the right sample is more important:

Samples "Jeanny" by Falco. A very famous and controversial pop song in Germany, which is still transporting a huge deal of hidden danger in its association - perfectly fitting to a song about the everyday threats and horror news becoming absolutely normal. Also if you compare carefully, you might notice that the sample isn't everything. It got edited, has a different drum line underneath it.

And then you also need to get the vocals right - rapping is more than just speaking. And if you fail to get any prominent style in your own raps, you will be forgotten quickly.

Such kind of composition isn't easy. I prefer comparing it to the use of "In the hall of the mountain king" in the movie "M" by Fritz Lang.

Of course in every musical style, about 90% of the music is underperforming junk, and if it is popular music, you even have 50% cheaply produced junk among it that is only made for earning money without effort. But that is the kind of music that you will not remember. The eternal fame comes from the real hard work.

But you have to admit the hip hop is culture is hot...
Like seriously...

Er... you mean like those guys neglecting to wear suspenders even though their pants are hanging off their knees revealing their scrawny legs and boxer shorts while people marvel that their precariously perched ball caps aren't falling off their pale shaved heads despite the ridiculous sway in their stride? Or am I thinking of something else? :shifty:

I agree with a few of the posts here: Hip-hop was once good, and has since descended for the most part (though not quite wholly) into darkness. :(

I mean no offense; not everyone looks bad dressing that way. I'm just lampooning the worst of it. :tiphat:

I chose "foreign" but since this is international forum, better option whould be "not-American" for example, cause "foreign" applies differently to different people in different countries.

Generally, yes I like hip hop very much despite the fact I have nothing in common with it's culture and even find buggy jeans silly and impractical.

If you think that's bad, check out the Tecktonik/Electro Dance crowd. They redefine "bad" to a whole new level of badness.

Unless you mean "The Naked And Famous" with electronic... which sound pretty good from what I just had in my cars radio.

Has a tiny touch of Machinae Supremacy ... but the better vocals. Sorry Gaz.
