My idea is to take the basic Ravenstar texture packaged with the addon, remove all of the actual textures, using it as a "frame" so to speak, and then totally redesign every single bit of the texture from scratch.

I am meaning to take up your "reskin without a paint kit" argument and actually attempt to do it. What exactly is your definition of "without a paint kit"? Starting from scratch? Taking a base texture and modifying it?
